(Students who have completed a Foil I class can join a Level 2/3 class at any time)

 

 

Foil I Class: An 8 week (8+ hours) introduction to fencing for those who have never fenced before, or are returning after an extended hiatus.

Fencers in Level 1 develop fundamental footwork skills and the basic blade actions of attack, riposte, and disengage, as well as basic refereeing skills.

In the final class of each session, Students participate in an electric fencing competition against their classmates and more experienced Club Members. Minimum age for our Beginner I class is 6.

Cost for Foil I is $100.00, and is non-refundable after the date of the first class.

All equipment for the class is provided except a glove, which is available for purchase at the Club for $10.00 or online. Attire for the class is sweats and rubber soled athletic shoes (sneakers or tennis shoes).

 

Foil II Class:

Foil Level 2 is for fencers with limited experience (such as those advancing from Level 1) who are able to maneuver on the strip comfortably,

and who can execute a capable straight attack, a disengage attack, and a simple riposte. Fencers in Level 2 learn and practice execution of all essential fencing footwork, counter-riposte, basic compound ripostes, attacks with multiple change of line, and all traditional parries. Fencers improve the precision of their fencing skills. All refereeing gestures are covered in Level 2.

Cost for the Foil II class is $100.00, and is non-refundable after the date of the first class. Equipment requirements are the same as our Foil I class.

Level III Foil Instruction

Foil Level 3 is for fencers (such as those advancing from Level 2) who have at least several months' experience, who are comfortable with all

essential fencing footwork, who can properly execute a compound attack, riposte, and counter-riposte, and who can perform all the traditional foil parries.

Fencers in Level 3 refine their technique and practice skills from previous classes in realistic tactical situations, improve the fluidity, power,

and quickness of their footwork, and learn infighting, specific counterattack techniques, and tactical remise. Level 3 fencers are introduced

to tournament competition, and they develop the skills necessary to referee a bout between fencers of their level.

Cost for the Foil III class is $50.00 per month.

 

Continuing Sabre Instruction

Sabre Level I is for fencers who have at least several months' experience, are comfortable with all essential fencing footwork, can properly execute a compound attack, riposte, and counter-riposte, can perform all the traditional foil parries, but want to specialize in Sabre.

Costs for the class is $50.00 per month, and is non-refundable after the date of the first class.

 

Continuing Epee Instruction

Epee Level I is for fencers who have at least several months' experience, are comfortable with all essential fencing footwork, can properly execute a compound attack, riposte, and counter-riposte, can perform all the traditional foil parries, but want to specialize in Epee.

Cost for the class $50.00 per month, and is non-refundable after the date of the first class.

Please register early, as our classes tend to fill up and 20 students is the limit per session. 

 

Private Lessons: Private lessons are designed for fencers of at least basic proficiency who would like to learn specific tactical or fencing skills, or refine existing technique. Private lessons are arranged with individual Coaches.
